What to leave with Mom & Dad:

Why?

Good question. While we will not all see eye-to-eye on some issues, the Leadership team of the Atlantic and Columbia Unions has some fundamental beliefs that we ask you to respect. We will do our best to present to you the reasons for our decisions during the program, but for now please accept these regulations as evidence that we have set our hearts on having a very spiritually uplifting summer.

On the boyfriend/girlfriend topic, while students vary much in age and maturity, they all have one thing in common: They will be living in close quarters (whether in adjacent buildings, or across the hall) with members of the opposite sex. For the sake of the reputations of these programs it has been our policy for the last decade to ask boyfriends and girlfriends, if they both have a desire to join our programs, to join different programs. That will do much to slow down gossip. For that same reason, among others, we ask that students not begin dating relationships during the summer program with other members of the program.
